The most talked about issues on Facebook on August 1-15 gave a slightly different wave as we see local entertainment topics become the most talked about content among Facebook Pinoy users.
To celebrate their 72nd anniversary, GMA Kapuso held GMA Gala Night on July 30, 2022. This earned the top spot in Blueprint. Ph’s Top ten Most Engaging Topics Among Filipino Facebook Users with a total engagement of 1.8 million from 512 posts from public pages.
On the second spot is Maid in Malacanang, a movie about the version of the Marcoses during the 1986 EDSA Revolution.
On the third spot was the former reigning number one topic: the Catholic Faith, which includes the keywords Mama Mary and Quiapo Church.
Binibining Pilipinas is crowned at the fourth spot. The pageant was held on August 1, and the image post by Philippine Star “‘I AM UNIQUELY BEAUTIFUL WITH A MISSION’ with candidate Ms. Herlene Budol had the topic’s highest engagement of more than 600,000.
On the fifth spot is global superstar group BTS which has been consistently on our bi-weekly top ten. RM, Jin, Suga, Jhope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook released a new song with Snoop Dog, “Bad Decisions”, produced by Benny Blanco.
Filipinos’ favorite past time sports, basketball and volleyball, are also in the top topics seizing the sixth spot. Keywords related to the Philippine Basketball Association and the Philippine Volleyball League gained high engagements.
Kapuso MO Jessica Sojo obtained the seventh spot with the post from its page:“Tataysa Palawan, umiinom ng tubig at asin para may pantawid-gutom” gaining 4.5 million views.
At the eighth spot is the new Filipino film on Netflix, “The Entitled”, starring Alex Gonzaga and JC De Vera.
“FPJs Ang Probinsyano” is at the ninth spot which aired its last episode on August 12 after its seven-year long run.
At our tenth spot are posts and engagements about the late actress and well known “Prima Contravida”Cherie Gil who succumbed to cancer on August 5.
