Ping Lacson

Noted for his background as a former police officer and a top graduate of the Philippine Military Academy, Panfilo "Ping" Lacson a successful but controversy-laden career as a police officer and became Chief of the Philippine National Police under his political patron former President Joseph "Erap Estrada, Retired following Estrada's resignation from office after the EDSA 2 revolt, La son ran and won to become a member of the Philippine Senate in 2001, and served two consecutive terms. Re-elected again as Senator in the 2016 elections, Lacson served as Presidential Adviser on tasked with supervising the rehabilitation of the damage wrought by super-typhoon Yolanda, but resigned with a declaration of frustration because of alleged lack of funding and control over the implementation of the rehabilitation projects.
