Mobile Legends and Dota 2 are the top favorites among Filipino gamers on Facebook from January to April 2021 based on BluePrint.PH’s monthly big data analysis. The latest scans for gaming showed Mobile Legends on top, taking 72% of the total engagement score for the top 10 trending e-games on Facebook. Engagement score is computed through a measure of the comments, reactions, and shares.
Mobile Legends took the number one spot having 3,418,735 out of the total 4,725,560 engagement scores generated for the e-games category. The ongoing MPLPh Season 7-Philippines qualifiers (MPL is considered as the South East Asian Games of Mobile Legends), ML Facebook Gaming video creators which includes famous celebrities all pitched in to give the game a whooping 3 million engagement score lead versus its number one competitor.
ChooxTV, with more than 4 million followers, is the top Mobile Legends influencer for the month. The most engaging ML related post for the month was from GHOST Wrecker, a live stream with Title: “GAME TAPUSIN NANATIN TO”
The stream generated an engagement score of 97,836.
In second place is DOTA 2. Pinoy gamers have been playing DOTA 2 for a decade already, thus, gamers claim that is the country’s national pastime. DOTA 2 generated a total of 394,989 engagement scores from 2,088 posts. Top performing post for the game was a livestream by Cong TV on a match from an on-going DOTA 2 league, ASIA PACIFIC PREDATOR LEAGUE 2020/21. The stream generated 120,699 engagement scores. Cong TV has 5.5 million followers and is the leading influencer for Dota 2 for the month.
Moving up to 3rd place is Call of Duty. The game has been trending due to its accessibility as it is available for both PC and mobile, and is free to play as well. With a total post count of 2,264 on the keyword, the game was able to generate more than 300,000 comments, 158,000 shares and 757,000 reactions.
Top post for Call of Duty was a photo post with captions “Virtual hug sa lahat ng pagod na. 😊 Tara! Laro tayo ng CALL OF DUTY MOBILE!”,
The post had 41,219 engagement score from the game’s top influencer for the month Marcelo Santos III who has 11 Million followers.
“Valorant” comes in fourth place with an engagement score of 267,915 from more than 2,000 posts. Valorant ranked third from January to March. Top post for Valorant was a stream by Razzie Binx with the title “KINALABAN NAMIN SI DOGIE.”
The post generated an engagement score of 9,247.
Holding on to fifth spot is CSGO or Counter Strike, which generated about 36,000 comments, 92,000 shares and 277,000 reactions which translates to an engagement score of 123,888 from 464 posts. The post generating most engagement was from theScore esports, which had an engagement score 8,945.
Other Notable performers
On the sixth spot is the 5v5 MOBA League of Legends with 103,870 engagement score. APEX Legends is 7th spot with 72,934 engagement score and a new entry to our monthly top 10. Still going strong is Minecraft at number 8 with 40,168 engagement score. In number nine, we have Overwatch with 16,869 engagement score. Finally at number 10 is PUBG with 15,666 engagement score.
