Currently a senator, Aquilino Pimentel III is executive vice-chairman of the ruling PDP-Laban and son of the party's founder former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel Jr. He became Senate President from 2016 to 2018, the first child of a former Senate President to assume the same Senate leadership.
