For April 2021, Blueprint.Ph’s monthly scan of top NBA teams revealed the following:

Brooklyn Nets takes top spot this April with 994,524 data points and an engagement score of 101,640 from1,361 posts. The top engaging story about the Nets was the team’s acquisition of Blake Griffin posted by NBA Buzz. The post with captions “BREAKING: Blake Griffin has signed with the Brooklyn Nets” received an engagement score of 19,449.

Some pundits consider these moves as unfair for the league because a healthy Nets team is the best team in the league due to the amount of talent in their roster.  The Nets had an 85% positive reactions from stories posted about the team.

Moving down from number one last month to number two this month is the Los Angeles Lakers. With 2,102 stories/posts about the team, the defending champion got a total of 119,319 engagement score.  Andre Drummond signing to the LA Lakers drove most of the conversation, notably on a post by NBA influencer NBA Buzz.

The post with captions “BREAKING: ANDRE DRUMMOND WILL SIGN WITH THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS” generated the highest engagement with a score of 18,306.

Steady at third place is The Golden State Warriors, with Stephen Curry enjoying an MVP-like season. However, their most engaging story for the month was from a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers.

A post by Team Lebron with the headline “The Los Angeles Lakers DOMINATED the Golden State Warriors with a wire-to-wire 117-91 BLOWOUT win at Staples Center” drew the highest engagement with a score of 5,262.  The team had an overall engagement score of 69,679.

At number 4 is Utah Jazz with 433,330 data points and 39,663 engagement scores from 734 stories/posts about the team posted on Facebook.  Facebook Engagement for the team increased as they became the first team to clinch a play-offs spot. Other top posts for the the Jazz were about two members of the team, Jordan Clarkson and Joe Ingles who are both  contenders for NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020-21.

Washington Wizards took the fifth place with 25,348 engagement points.  Hottest story for the Nicks was a 129-109 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder and with Russel Westbrook registering another triple double game. He is now a triple double game away from besting the current total triple double all-time record.

New York Knicks is at number 6 with 23,099 engagement points from 746 Stories posted on Facebook about the team.

At 7th place is the Miami Heat, which looks ready to charge once again towards the NBA Finals. Stories about the Heat reached 535,734 data points with 20,044 engagement score. Their top story for the month was from a proposed trade between Miami Heat and Houston Rockets which includes PJ Tucker for Tyler Herro or Duncan Robinson.

A post by NBA Buzz with headline “REPORT: Rockets proposed a trade to the Miami Heat which includes PJ Tucker for Tyler Herro or Duncan Robinson” was the top engaging story with 8,056 engagement score.

Other notable teams that were hot topics for Filipino fans on Facebook were Phoenix Suns at number 8 with 19,829 engagement score.  San Antonio Spurs with 16,721 engagement points at 9th place.  And lastly at 10 spot is Minnesota Timberwolves who got an engagement score of 16,562.

Through big data analysis, Blueprint.ph was able to scan 9,583,287  data points for the category of NBA with a total of  551,131 engagement score.  NBA ranked 12th on the top trending category for the month of April.
